Infrastructure Engineer

Position Purpose

Wave Money is a ‘mobile money’ financial services organization in Myanmar, headquartered in Yangon. Wave Money utilizes an external Hosting company as an IaaS, running on cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, MuleSoft and many flavors of Database which are mainly hosted on Linux servers.

The Infrastructure Engineer will:

• Maintain and support Wave technical infrastructure and ensure all new services delivered to the business follow Wave standards.
• Is responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of a quality, effective and efficient operational environment including all technical support required to ensure successful operation of all production systems.

Is responsible for managing vendors, middleware and database environments and any underlying technologies required to host the applications including virtualization.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Report to the Head of Engineering and Architecture
• Perform detailed analysis and documentation of the currently application deployment procedures that leverage Docker (containerization) and Kubernetes (Orchestration) technologies
• Provide recommendations, planning and execution of such for updating such technologies
• Perform technical system review of third party and custom-built applications
• Ensure functional, system and architectural integrity of Financial Services technology platforms
• Ensure effective and efficient vendor management
• Ensure effective change control and configuration management is implemented
• Ensure organizations hardware and systems comply with relevant legislations and policies
• Ensure the information security of the systems is according to requirements and Regulation
• Work in both Agile and Waterfall methodology where it makes sense.
• Plan and lead performance, stress and other testing required on the system infrastructure
• Manage and execute all infrastructure builds
• Ensure all the systems at Wave are patched and secure and not open to vulnerabilities
• Supporting OPS, DevOps and PMO teams
• Troubleshoot system and infrastructure related issues
• Develop new IT operating model procedures and process
