Purpose Statement

  • To lead the SP&I function within Myanmar by the execution of consumer and trade research projects and monitoring competition activities in addition to other information systems, to support business decision-making.

  • Additionally, the purpose is to drive the strategic planning and decision-making process through actionable understanding of consumer needs and mechanism of the market place.

Key Accountabilities

1. Operations/ Professional/ Business

  • Running the EM&F Forums with accuracy and control

  • Sales planning, reporting and forecasting

  • Maintain accurate source of information for analysis

  • Maintain and analyze information collected from markets and agencies in order to identify and recommend to the MR&I manager and the Marketing Team business opportunities within the Zone.

  • Ensures the correct application of ORACLE methodologies throughout the Zone and contributes to the

    development of new methodologies.

  • Evaluate and maintain qualitative and quantitative information on competition

  • Produce reports and analyses on agreed frequency

  • Ensures the implementation of MR&I Common Platforms and Best Practices within each market.

  • Follow on intra-market research projects within the Zone in response to common business needs.

  • Consolidate reports at MYM End Market level 

2. Management

  • • Good level resource/project management skills to successfully follow on multi-country projects within the Market.
  • • Continuously monitor performance of market in line with objectives of the year and draw the marketing team attention on possible gaps.
  • • Act as an early warning system to the marketing team concerning all aspects of own and competition activities that might impact the business.
  • • Ensure that key company, market, brand & segment performance indicators are effectively analyzed and regularly reported to the Management team.

3. Leadership

  • Ability to analyze and interpret market information of various origin and format
  • Ability to help or influence decision-maker with solid analysis and actionable recommendations.

4. Relationship

  • Work and maintain interactive relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with research agencies from an operational (fieldwork) perspective
  • Support in providing to the Marketing team strategic guidance on market, consumers and brand issues based on information from markets and research

5. Innovation

  • Lead the implementation of appropriate ad-hoc methodologies in non-strategic markets across the Zone to serve as basis for business decisions.
  • Secure access to information
  • Develop new and user-friendly information management tools.

Job Requirements

  • Identify relevant data and how and where to obtain them
  • Convert data into usable information, understand the market and deliver recommendations
  • Identify competitors, their strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities
  • Implement semi-automated process to help deliver and facilitate access to accurate and secured information within delay
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle methodology
  • BSc (Science) in Economics or Statistics.

  • English Level III minimum

  • Effective communication and presentation skills. Leadership skills are also required.

  • High level of attention to detail, thorough analytical skills, rational decision making, objectivity, creativity and good negotiation capacity. Strong interpersonal skills and being a ‘team player’ are essential.
