RESPONSIBILITIES

An Android Mobile developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. He or she can be able to designs, build, and maintain performance, reusable, and reliable (Kotlin/Java) code. He or she can make ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application and integration with back-end services. Commitment to sophisticated design, and creating quality products, collaborative problem solving, identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs is essential.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Build applications according to the design and provide designers with feedback and suggest tradeoffs when required
• Ensure the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
• Work closely with backend developers to understand and properly use the systems APIs
• Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks
• Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

Education

• Completion of tertiary qualifications in a business or related field such as Bachelor of Computer Science or Information Systems or Business, Management, Commerce

Experience

• Past experience as a mobile developer
• Experience with offline storage, External DB service, threading, and performance tuning
• Experience as a developer on an agile team preferred
• Experience in the Banking is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strongly understand Android Life cycle
• Understanding native android APIs
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Strongly understand android architecture design (MVC, MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Single Activity Architecture)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• Understanding and handling Life cycle aware components (ViewModel, LiveData)
• Manage Long running tasks (coroutines, Background thread, UI thread)
• Understanding on mobile application security

Good to have

• Jetpack Compose UI creation
• Understanding Common Design Patterns(Creational patterns, Structural patterns, Behavioral patterns)

Languages

• Working proficiency in Myanmar and English.
