  • Planning and delivering physical education lessons that meet the needs and abilities of students in different age groups and skill levels
  • Developing and implementing assessment strategies to measure student learning and progress
  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to participate and feel valued
  • Collaborating with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into other areas of the curriculum
  • Communicating with parents and caregivers about student progress and any concerns related to physical education
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and properly maintained
  • Keeping up-to-date with developments in physical education, including new teaching methods, resources, and technologies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physical education or a related field
  • Teaching certification and/or relevant experience working with elementary-age students
  • Strong knowledge of physical education principles, techniques, and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to create and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to physical education
