Role of the position:

Responsible to Mobile Habor Crane for safe discharging & loading of containers/ cargo with safe operating procedures, port benchmark performance standards & company targets.

I. Primary Responsibilities:

1. Operate the MHC allotted as per roaster during the shift by yard supervisor
2. Follow SOP's carefully in start up and shut down of crane.
3. Transfer containers as per sequenced Discharge/Load plan.
4. Take over the crane from previous operator after ground level checks, and report if found any abnormalities, in accordance with safe operating procedures.
5. Unload and load containers from Vessel to ITV and vice versa
6. Handover the MHC to next shift operator
7. Ensure adherence to safety norms
8. Intervention & reporting of all Unsafe acts/ conditions/Near Misses

II. Secondary Responsibilities:

1. Communicate using UHF's/VHF's with supervisors for instructions
2. Liaise with the Yard/Tower Control Officer/dispatcher with UHF's/VHF's for specific instruction
3. Check warnings and pop-up messages on PLC's & report accordingly.
4. Periodically check overall condition of equipment through check list
5. Inform immediately yard / tower control officer / dispatcher in case of breakdown of MHC crane and log the timings on VMT/HHT device.
6. Assist maintenance crew in routine and breakdown maintenance

Functional competency:

- Motor Skills, previous experience in Container Terminal Operations preferred
- Knowledge on container terminal operations flow
- Industry experience of min. 3 yrs

Education Qualification:

- Minimum 10th class with professional certificates
