Position Summary
Regional Manager (RM) shall perform the management functions (Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling) to ensure that the operation of all branches within the region function smoothly and properly in compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and direction…, meeting objectives laid down by the company and yielding a great deal of excellent performance. He/she shall keep developing himself/herself to ensure his/her skills and knowledge suit the changes in the market and in customer’s view and the development of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
Develops sales and marketing strategies, activities, and leads the branch teams to implementing. Or if the sales and marketing strategies are laid down by Head Office, he/she shall cascade down to subordinates and lead them to full implementation to ensure high achievement.
RM is expected to work closely with Marketing department to pinpoint potential and existing markets to make market surveys and other studies for market expansion and other purposes to better understand about the markets and effectiveness of the company’s operations, competition, and so on. When CSR activity is undertaken, he/she is required to partake actively in identifying the need, proposing and implementing such activity.
The regional manager shall take lead and monitor the implementation of Marketing-related policies, procedures, directives, etc., to achieve effectiveness and efficiency towards increasing competitive advantages for the company in the market.
Credit and Operations Management
Works with such related persons as branch managers, assistant regional manager (if employed), and chief operation officer to create and implement annual target plan and action plans to achieve expected productivity and quality and to improve customer experience as per the development of the industry. In addition to developing regional plans, he/she is also expected to help branch managers developing branch’s objectives and action plans for each employee.
Regional Manager shall represent the company as per assignment or prescribed responsibility to lead branch management team members to solving credit-related and operations-related issues and problems in the region. He/she shall oversee the general operations management (such eliminating wastes in all forms, cash management, …) of service counter of all branches in the region and improve the quality of their job as required.
The regional manager shall take lead and monitor the implementation of Credit and Operation policies, procedures, directives, etc., to achieve effectiveness and efficiency towards eliminating all kinds of operational misconducts and wrong doings.
Human Resources Management
Develops staffing and human capacity development plans for the need for human capital as per the market expansion plan and to satisfy the future need for human resources to support the growth of the company’s business activity within the region. He/she shall lead the implementation of the plan by working closely with Human Resources department in recruitments, trainings, employee’s annual performance appraisals and so on.
He/she shall identify human resources issues and put in the solutions as per the authority assigned or work with chief operations officer to find effective solutions.
The regional manager shall take lead and monitor the implementation of HR policy, procedures, directives, etc., to achieve effectiveness and efficiency towards eliminating all kinds of HR-related misconducts and mismanagement and promoting encouraging working environment.
Financial Management
Works with assistant regional manager (if employed), branch managers, and chief operations officer to develop financial plans to effectively manage operational and financial costs. He/she shall oversee general management of accounting transaction processing and reporting.
The assistant regional manager shall take lead and monitor the implementation of Finance policy, procedures, directives, etc., to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in accounting towards earning reliability and transparency in the company’s financial management and report for all stakeholders.
Administrative Management
Creates plans to ensure sufficient assets are available for the needs in operations. The regional manager shall take lead and monitor the implementation of Administration policy, procedures, directives, etc., to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in:
- Controlling the use of company’s fixed and other assets:
- Procurements, logistics, recording, labeling, maintaining and repairing assets;
- Ensuring security and safety of the company’s premises and assets;
- Supplying utilities etc.
Besides the routine jobs, the regional manager shall take on another casual role of administrative staff in searching for office buildings to supply the existing branches in the cases of office relocation and new branch set-ups.
Relationship Management
In developing rapports, regional manager shall represent the company in building and maintaining relationships with local authorities, customers, regulator, employees, and other stakeholders. Not only him or her who shall do it, he/she shall lead his/her team members to do the same.
Reporting
As in the managerial position, the regional manager shall make various types of report available to himself/herself as well as his/her supervisors as following:
- Briefing – which is required to provide with any problems or issues regarding such operational materials as policies, procedures, etc., and questions or concerns raised by branch staff;
- Results of Investigation – which shall be provided with the information about market research, customer satisfaction survey, customer and staff complaints or feedbacks, office location searching, and so on;
- Updates – which shall be required to include summarized information on some regular basis (weekly, monthly, or whatever) in terms of any activity or results (such as productivity reports and financial reports);
- Proposal – which include various types of proposals such as CSR activity and budgets, new office openings, staff promotions, and so on.
He/she shall be required to perform other tasks for his/her supervisors and the company as per the requirements of the company’s operations.
