Job Summary
Position Title: Senior Business Development Officer

We are looking for a full-time Senior Business Development Officer who will lead our Business Development team to find (strategic) business opportunities, lead proposal preparations and establish relationships with clients, partner organizations and consultants.
The ideal candidate will be well-organized, will have an attention to detail, has good time management skills, can think strategically, has leadership skills and has knowledge of the development sector in Myanmar.
Please note: If you are interested in sales, marketing products, developing other businesses, then this is not the role for you. MKE operates in the NGO and development sector, which means we grow our business primarily by responding to tenders and not through pro-active selling.

Job specifications
The Senior Business Development Officer will report to the BD Manager in the Head Office and the Country Manager. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Lead the BD department in our Myanmar office;
- Track opportunities via tender websites, networks, emails received, etc.;
- Coordinate the tender/bidding process including the preparation of documents such as Expression of Interests (EOIs), Technical Proposals and Financial Proposals (with inputs from and in close collaboration with other MKE staff);
- Ensure that bids are submitted on time and are as complete and accurate as possible, whilst also best reflecting the firm’s services and abilities;
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partner organizations and consultants;
- Identify and recruit suitable external consultants for new opportunities and projects;
- Work on and promote bid best practice initiatives and further develop internal processes and systems;
- Other duties as assigned by the Country Manager and the BD Manager from the Head Office.
