Senior Lawyer

Job Scope:

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced senior lawyer who wants to learn from working in a Telecoms company that is part of a leading multinational Telecoms group. Business understanding and high integrity is essential together with the ability to provide relevant solutions in a proactive manner. You will work in Legal Department, report to Head of Legal and work closely with a team of lawyers, cross functional teams and top management.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, review and advise on telecom specific contracts and other contracts relevant to Telecoms operation.
• Telecom regulatory matters/ ability take firm positions with the authorities when needed.
• Advise on areas of law relevant to a telecom company, including for instance, competition law, marketing, real estate, privacy, corporate law, investment law.
• Identify and manage legal risk.
• Ensure that law and internal policies and other rules are observed.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators and other public authorities and external counsel), creating relations of trust.
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders.
• Advise on matters regarding DICA and MIC.
• Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
• Proactively keeping up to date with changes in law, practice and internal rules.

Required Skills & Experiences:

• L.L, B degree in Law or J.D. degree.
• MA or BSc in Business Administration will be considered an advantage.
• 5 years+ proven experience as a senior lawyer in business environment; preferably within Telecom industry.
• Languages: advanced professional English and native Myanmar.
• Solid legal judgement and solution oriented.
• Team player: ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and with more junior members of legal team.
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive and proactive strategies.
• Professional with high integrity.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and responding to legal queries within specified time maintaining quality of work.
• Intensive experience in supporting procurement and sourcing team.
