Job Description

A Great Opportunity for ...

Our Senior Legal Officer (SLO) will be responsible for managing all the legal actions of our company. Reporting to the CEO, our SLO will manage a team of 3 legal officers that is responsible for executing power purchase agreements, ground lease agreements, supply and service contracts, non-disclosure agreements and all other corporate agreements. She/he will work closely with our Site Acquisition team and participate in cross-functional daily/weekly review meetings.

Our SLO will need to 

· Stay abreast of, research into and advise the company on investment law, tax law, land law, electricity law and other relevant laws and regulations pertinent to the company;

· Liaise with DICA, MIC and other governmental authorities;

· Review ownership and/or land lease documents;

· Negotiate various legal contracts and documents with counter party lawyers;

· Compare or translate legal documents from Myanmar to English and vice versa, as needed;

· Register and process stamp duty for all agreements;

· Maintain records of all contracts and agreements signed by the company;

· Travel across Myanmar when needed;

Job Requirements

Experience & Education:

Minimum 10 years of post-qualifying experience, preferably in the telecom and/or power sector in Myanmar as in-house lawyer or external counsel.

Experience working with or reporting to senior management of companies.

Valid Advocate License in Myanmar.

Bachelor’s degree in Law.

Proficiency in English, Myanmar and MS Office tools.
