ROLE PURPOSE

To be responsible, under the direction of Head of Collection for the management of the legal action accounts, and collateral in possession accounts and to contribute efficiently and effectively for the management of Non-Performance Loans.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To ensure that all legal accounts are assigned lawyers and actioned in accordance with Myanmar Law & Regulations
• To ensure all legal action accounts are assigned lawyers within guided days after the legal action being approved
• To ensure files are established on approval action for all legal accounts and that these files are accurate, up to date and contain all relevant information and documents
• To regularly follow up to ensure all legal action accounts have been managed properly to minimize the recovery timeline, and maximize the bank’s recovery
• Organize the regular meeting with HOC to brief and suggest the necessary actions on the legal process
• To ensure all repossessed assets accounts have all the required accurate documentation in line with the Myanmar Local Law and Regulatory
• To ensure the team members undertake timely inspections on the repossessed assets and recommend any needed repairs or maintenance
• To work with external sales partners and internal stakeholders to ensure speedy disposal of assets
• Organize the regular meeting with HOC to brief on the collateralized property accounts and prepare the regular reports for the Senior Management
• Set the targets achievement for the team member(s) and closely monitor the achievements of these targets
• Ensure that the reporting staff are appropriately trained relative to their role requirements
• To ensure all staff have development plans appropriate to their role needs

Experience

• Experience of managing a medium sized Monitoring and Recovery team
• Possess a proven track record at senior management level with experience of applying sound judgement in credit decisions in all parts of credit cycle

Knowledge and Skills

• A sound knowledge of lending in the Myanmar market, gained through practical experience.
• Sound knowledge of Myanmar legal processes at a level which would enable accounts with legal implications to be appropriately managed
• Be familiar with Myanmar collateral documentation and identify any inherent errors
• An ability to communicate with and influence customers and, within Yoma Bank, all levels of management and staff
• Consistently deliver high levels of results, using constructive credit management techniques and to exceed multiple, challenging performance objectives
• Have high level of attention to details
• An ability to effectively prioritize tasks
• Have strong organizational skills and time management abilities
• Adapts easily to new environment and can work with a variety of people
• Available to travel to branches across the country for recovery activities
• Act as Liaison Manager for Yoma Bank Branch network enquiries

Education and Special Training

• Completion of tertiary qualifications, preferably in a business or related field such as Bachelor of Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or industry specific qualifications.
• PC skills – Excellent skill for Power BI, Microsoft Excel, good working knowledge of Words, PowerPoint, Visio, Email.
• Documentation skills – able to write official letters, emails in simple English.
