Job Description

1. Planning and scheduling deliveries, including determining routes and delivery schedules.
2. Maintaining and updating records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and expenses.
3. Overseeing the maintenance of vehicles and ensuring that they are in good working order.
4. Scheduling routine maintenance and repairs for vehicles, as well as coordinating with service providers and mechanics.
5. Developing and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve service quality.
6. Managing budgets for transportation operations, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and monitoring fuel costs.
7. To negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers, securing the best value for the company.
8. Monitoring and evaluating driver performance, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to transportation.
9. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
10. Ensuring a safe and efficient transportation system, through regular training and assessment of drivers and other staff.
11. Monitoring driver performance and ensuring that they are following safe driving practices.
12. Analyzing transportation data and developing reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

6. Ensuring the maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working order and minimize downtime.
7. Providing regular reports on transportation operations, performance and budget, to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
8. To ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
9. To monitor and evaluate the performance of drivers, addressing any performance issues as needed.
10. To ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and repaired, reducing downtime and maximizing vehicle lifespan.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities:

1. Developing and managing transportation budgets, including monitoring fuel costs and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
2. Analyzing transportation data and developing reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
3. Developing and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve service quality.
4. Providing regular reports on transportation operations, performance, and budget to senior management.
5. Conducting training sessions for drivers and other staff to ensure a safe and efficient transportation system.
6. Reviewing and updating transportation policies and procedures as needed.
7. Maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
2. An MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree in a relevant field is often preferred.
3. 4-5 years of experience in Transport management, logistics, or a related field.

1. Relevant experience in transportation management, with a solid understanding of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
2. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate with suppliers and service providers.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers, customers and regulatory authorities.
6. Ability to analyze transportation data and develop reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement
7. Familiarity with transportation management software, GPS tracking systems and other technology tools.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
9. Good understanding of budgeting, financial management, and cost control.
