The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing the company’s national sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and market-share objectives. The role oversees regional sales teams, builds relationships with key customers, develops sales forecasts, and ensures execution of sales programs across all regions.

A. Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Lead and manage nationwide sales operations, ensuring consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales budgets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and recommend expansion strategies.
  • Ensure effective channel, distributor, or partner management.

B. Sales Operations & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and support regional sales managers and field sales teams.
  • Set sales targets, OKRs, and performance goals for all regions.
  • Conduct regular sales performance reviews and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Oversee sales pipeline management and ensure accurate CRM usage.

C. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Lead negotiations with major accounts and strategic partners.
  • Manage customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

D. Marketing & Product Collaboration

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop promotional campaigns.
  • Provide market feedback regarding product performance, competitor activity, and customer behavior.

E. Administrative & Financial Responsibilities

  • Prepare sales reports and present them to senior leadership.
  • Manage the national sales budget, expenses, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field (Required)
  • Master’s degree in Business (MBA) (Preferred)

  • 7–12 years of progressive sales experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a senior sales leadership or regional management role
  • Proven experience managing multi-regional or national sales operations
  • Experience in the company’s specific industry (e.g., FMCG, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, technology—adjust as needed)

    3. Skills and Competencies

    A. Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of sales forecasting, analytics, and CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics and customer behavior
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
