Job Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial records. This role involves leading the accounting operations, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant will also support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards. Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial reports. General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger. Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise and support AP and AR functions. Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. Manage customer billing and collections. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management. Support strategic planning and decision-making processes. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Maintain internal controls and safeguard assets. Cost Control: Monitor and analyze costs to ensure alignment with the budget. Provide recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Staff Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior accountants and accounting staff. Provide training and development to enhance team skills and performance. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Systems and Processes: Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems. Streamline accounting processes for improved efficiency and accuracy. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices. Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Provide financial analysis and support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic activities.
