VDB Loi is seeking a Junior Tax Consultant to join our busy Yangon tax team. The role is open to fresh business, econmics and tax graduates. Full training will be provided. Good English skills needed. Assist in the preparation and submission of the monthly and annual tax returns of to the Tax Department Communicate with Tax officials Assist to tax research on behalf of the Firm and clients of the Firm Apply tax laws and regulations keeping up to date with any new developments Participate in the Firm knowledge, professional and administrative development Translate documents from Burmese to English and vice versa
This is an excellent role for someone who is detail-oriented, strategic in thinking, and confident in both written and verbal communication in Myanmar and English. Strong legal drafting skills and litigation experience are essential. Main Duties Provide legal advice on commercial, civil, and criminal-related commercial disputes Draft legal documents such as plaints, applications, and written statements for court use Review contracts and dispute-related documents, and prepare legal opinions Attend and represent clients at court hearings, including oral pleadings Prepare summaries and memos of court hearings for clients Meet with clients to explain legal procedures and next steps in litigation Review employment contracts and provide advice Draft complaints for submission to the Arbitration Body or Arbitration Council (in labour disputes) Advise on dispute resolution clauses and governing law in contracts Assist senior advocates with appeals to the Supreme Court Conduct legal research, especially on case law for appeal applications
