Role in brief:

Responsible for operating RTG crane for loading & off-loading containers/ cargo with safe operating procedures and port benchmark performance standards

I. Primary Responsibilities:

1. Operate the RTG allotted as per roaster during the shift by yard supervisor
2. Follow SOPs carefully in start and Shut down of crane
3. Transfer containers as per storage/yard plan/dispatch plans.
4. Load and Off-load containers from trucks/Yard.
5. Take over the crane from previous operator after ground level checks, and report if found any abnormalities, in accordance with safe operating procedures.
6. Handover the RTG to next shift operator safely and pass critical information or any new updates if any.
7. Inform immediately yard / tower control officer / dispatcher in case of breakdown of Equipment.
8. Perform safety checks of the crane in accordance with safe operating procedures
9. Ensure adherence to safety norms
10. Intervention & reporting of all Unsafe acts/ conditions/Near Misses

II. Secondary Responsibilities:

1. Communicate using UHFs/VHFs with supervisors for instructions
2. Liaise with the Yard/Tower Control Officer/dispatcher with UHFs for specific instruction
3. Check fuel level periodically
4. Check Lubricant level periodically
5. Periodically check overall condition of equipment through check list
6. Assist maintenance crew in routine and breakdown maintenance

Functional competency:

- Previous experience in RTG crane operation
- Industry experience of min. 2.5 yrs

Education Qualification:

- Minimum 10th class with professional certificates
