Job Function: Own the monthly accounting close for the rice and broken rice milling and trading operation at Shwe Pyi Thar, and stand behind the accuracy of the numbers that leave the finance function. Review and develop the Junior Accountant's work, and hold the controls around stock, cost and settlement that a physical commodity business depends on. Provide the Finance Manager with costing, margin and cash information that is timely enough to act on. Key Responsibilities: Own the monthly close: prepare and post closing entries, review all schedules, and deliver the management accounts to the agreed timetable. Review the Junior Accountant's transaction processing, reconciliations and schedules, and correct or coach where the work falls short. Maintain and reconcile stock accounting for paddy, milled rice and broken rice, including yield, wastage and by-product recognition between paddy intake and finished output. Prepare product costing per tonne across milling, transport and warehouse costs, and explain movements in unit cost to the Finance Manager. Control accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and trader settlement, ageing review and escalation of overdue balances. Prepare and file commercial tax, withholding tax and other statutory returns accurately and on time, and maintain the supporting working papers. Act as the finance point of contact for the external audit, preparing schedules and resolving audit queries. Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor bank positions to support purchase and settlement decisions. Maintain and strengthen internal controls over cash, stock movement, weighbridge records and supplier payments, and report any control breakdown. Review and approve payment requests within delegated authority before submission to the Finance Manager. Support budgeting and periodic forecasting for the operation. Keep accounting records and filing complete enough that any balance can be substantiated on request.

Prepare the routine entries, reconciliations and schedules that allow the Senior Accountant to close each month on schedule and with a clean audit trail. Key Responsibilities: Record daily purchase, sales, cash and bank transactions in the accounting system, with complete supporting documents attached to every entry. Maintain inventory records for paddy, milled rice and broken rice, including quantity and weight movements between mill, warehouse and despatch. Reconcile stock movement records against weighbridge slips, delivery orders and warehouse reports, and escalate any variance to the Senior Accountant. Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable schedules, including supplier, trader and customer ageing. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations. Prepare routine journal entries and accounting adjustments for review by the Senior Accountant. Verify the coding of costs across milling, warehouse and transport cost centres so charges land in the correct account. Assemble supporting schedules and documents for monthly reporting, statutory filings and audit requests. Maintain accounting files so that any transaction can be traced back to its source document. Support commercial tax and withholding tax working papers under the direction of the Senior Accountant.
