JOB SUMMARY The Chief Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the overall management of pharmacy operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance with pharmaceutical laws and company policies. The role includes supervision of all pharmacy staff, ensuring effective stock management, and promoting patient-centered care through professional dispensing, counseling, and quality assurance. The Chief Pharmacist will also support the management team in business development, product selection, and continuous improvement of pharmacy services. JOB DESCRIPTIONS • Pharmacy Management • Supervise and manage all retail pharmacy operations to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning. • Maintain compliance with drug laws, regulations, and company SOPs. • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and dispensing of medicines according to professional and legal standards. • Staff Supervision and Training • Lead, mentor, and evaluate pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and support staff. • Conduct regular training sessions on pharmacy practice, customer service, and new product knowledge. • Ensure professional discipline, teamwork, and continuous learning among pharmacy personnel. • Inventory and Procurement • Oversee inventory control to minimize stockouts and wastage. • Collaborate with the procurement team for effective purchasing and vendor management. • Verify and approve orders of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. • Quality and Patient Safety • Implement and monitor quality assurance systems for all pharmaceutical activities. • Handle and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to standard protocols. • Ensure that all dispensing processes maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and patient safety. • Business Development and Reporting • Support the management team in identifying new pharmacy-related products and business opportunities. • Prepare regular operational and performance reports for the General Manager. • Participate in pricing strategies, promotions, and expansion plans aligned with company goals.
