Provide leadership to academic staff and promote activities in improving teaching methods and learning outcomes. Curriculum Review and select appropriate entrance testing. Assign teaching schedules and duties ensuring an equitable distribution of the overall workload. Ensure the academic integrity of the curriculum and its delivery and the monitoring of the student outcomes. Monitor internal and external assessment procedures. Review teaching materials and teaching methods to improve the overall academic standards. Monitor updates in teaching and learning methodology to ensure that advances are translated into classroom. Initiate staff development programmes to promote highly effective teaching and learning. Pupil Development Supervise the preparation and completion of the report cards. Supervise the collection of student administration information and student records for legal, data analysis and further and higher education referral purposes. Monitor student progress regarding examination results, reports and certificates and pastoral welfare and provide statistical and qualitative reports to the School’s Senior Management Team. Manage the pupil welfare programme, ensuring that pupils receive appropriate medical and counseling services. Work cooperatively with outside agencies such as Community Health Services, Children's Aid Society, Child Care and Development Services. Manage pupil or parent complaints and grievances and ensure that policies and procedures are followed. Provide guidance and advice to pupils on a range of academic matters including counseling on higher education opportunities. Inform parents of the school activities through newsletters, parent/teacher conferences, etc. Management of the School Establish procedures for the purpose and receipt of materials and supplies necessary to support the instructional program. Ensure that there is a system of accounting for monies from student activities, student fees, gifts or other funds belonging to school or to any student group within the school. Monitor the organization of the school to ensure that there is efficient allocation of teaching resources including resources assigned to non-academic activities. Control the maintenance of the school premises and its surrounding which have to be up to date, clean, safe, pleasant and operational at all times. Monitor the safety of the premises and hold regular safety meetings of both the teaching and non-teaching staff. Be present at all times to supervise the school when it is operational. Manage the employment and deployment of cover and emergency teaching staff within the budget. Regularly review academic and administrative policies and operational procedures to maximize efficiency and encourage improvement. Monitor the punctuality and attendance of all staff. Assume charge of staff social welfare by installing a sense of belonging to the organization and reinforcing staff confidence in sustaining and developing their teaching career in the school. Establish procedures whereby the access of visitors to the school can be monitored and controlled. This would include access by salespersons, guest speakers and former students. Conduct fire drills as required by regulations and see that all personnel within the school are familiar with all procedures to be followed in case of a fire. Fire exit signs shall be placed in each room. Management of self Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the school’s Philosophy & Objectives. Be committed to own professional development through attending and, wherever possible, leading in-service training programmes. Write own annual professional goals, updating them as appropriate. Business Development Review students’ progress and instigate new initiatives to grow the student numbers and reputation of the School. Take part in marketing and promotional activities for the school on and off-shore, as required. Promote Public Relations to enhance the image and the standards of the school. Secure a close support and relationship with parents to reinforce their confidence in the school.
