We are looking for a hands-on Secondary Science Teacher who excels at bringing science to life through practical experiments. In this role, you will lead our students through engaging laboratory investigations specifically designed to meet Cambridge International (Lower Secondary and IGCSE practical assessment requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Laboratory Duties
Lead Hands-On Practical Lessons:
Design and deliver regular laboratory sessions that directly support Cambridge theory and practical exam components.
Train students in core Cambridge practical skills: Planning, Manipulation of apparatus, Observing/Recording, and Analysis/Evaluation.
Guide students in safely using scientific equipment, measuring instruments, and data-logging tools.
Ensure Lab Safety & Compliance:
Maintain strict health and safety standards in the laboratory, conducting risk assessments for all student experiments.
Work closely with lab technicians to prepare, test, and organize chemicals, biological specimens, and physics apparatus prior to classes.
Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
Assess Practical Competencies:
Evaluate student lab reports, data analysis, and practical techniques in line with Cambridge marking criteria.
Prepare students successfully for Cambridge Alternative-to-Practical or school-based practical exams.
