Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

As a Japanese Coordinator at Exera Myanmar, you will be responsible for facilitating effective communication between our company and our Japanese-speaking clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient translation of documents, meetings, and other communications, while building strong relationships with our Japanese clients.

 

Translation:

  • Provide accurate and reliable translation services from Japanese to English and vice versa.
  • Translate various business documents, including contracts, agreements, reports, and emails.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information during translation.
  • Maintain a consistent and high standard of translation quality.

Communication and Liaison:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients, ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Attend sales meetings, conferences, and other business-related events as a translator and provide simultaneous interpretation.
  • Facilitate communication between Japanese clients and internal teams, conveying messages accurately and professionally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all client requirements are met and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Conduct Business Intelligence activities focused on Japanese clients in Myanmar, including monitoring Japanese media channels to identify and target prospective clients prior to their entry into Myanmar.

Relationship Building:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Japanese clients, understanding their needs, expectations, and preferences.
  • Foster trust and effective collaboration by establishing rapport with clients and demonstrating cultural sensitivity.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling based on client interactions and needs.
  • Participate in Japanese Chamber of Commerce events and any other Japanese community gatherings.

Cultural Understanding:

  • Stay updated on cultural, social, and business trends in Japan to facilitate effective communication and relationship building.
  • Provide cultural insights and advice to internal teams to ensure culturally appropriate approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Japanese and English is essential. JLPT 1-2-3 required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages are required.
  • Proven experience in translation and interpretation, preferably in a business environment.
  • Familiarity with business terminology and practices in both Japanese and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt communication styles based on the context.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate and error-free translations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and translation software/tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with Japanese clients or in a Japanese-speaking environment.
  • Knowledge of the Myanmar business landscape and cultural practices.
  • Additional language skills would be an advantage.
