The Assistant Class Teacher at GIC supports the effective delivery of academic programs by assisting in classroom management, lesson execution, student monitoring, and administrative coordination. Working closely with the Class Teacher and Academic Team, this role ensures smooth daily classroom operations, supports student learning, and contributes to maintaining academic quality and consistency across programs (including IGCSE and OSSD). Key Responsibilities Classroom & Academic Coordination Support - Assist in implementing termly and weekly academic plans in coordination with the supervisor. - Support class scheduling, lesson flow, and ensure readiness of teaching materials and resources. - Ensure classroom activities and lesson delivery align with curriculum requirements (e.g., IGCSE, OSSD). - Follow up on daily lesson execution and report any issues affecting academic delivery. - Assessment & Exam Coordination - Support the preparation and organization of tests, quizzes, and examinations. - Assist with exam logistics including printing, distribution, and invigilation. - Help collect, organize, and record student marks and assessment data. - Ensure timely submission and proper handling of assessment materials. - Student Academic Monitoring - Track student attendance, participation, homework completion, and overall performance. - Identify students who may require additional academic support and report to the Class Teacher. - Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date student academic records. Student & Parent Engagement Support - Assist in maintaining communication with students and parents regarding attendance, reminders, and general academic updates. - Support the preparation and coordination of parent-teacher meetings and academic briefings. - Escalate academic or behavioral concerns to the Class Teacher or Academic Team when necessary. Digital Learning & LMS Support - Assist in setting up and maintaining Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle) for class use. - Support uploading of learning materials, assignments, and announcements. - Help track student participation and engagement in online learning platforms. - Provide basic support to students and teachers in using digital learning tools. Administrative Operations & Team Collaboration - Maintain classroom documentation including attendance records, assessment data, and reports. - Coordinate with teachers and administrative staff to ensure availability of classroom resources and materials. - Support academic events, activities, and day-to-day operations. - Assist with general administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
