The Tax Manager (or Assistant Manager) is responsible for ensuring full tax compliance and optimizing tax planning for Power X. This role oversees all tax-related matters including corporate income tax, commercial tax, withholding tax, and other statutory filings in accordance with Myanmar tax laws. The position also supports financial reporting, audits, and provides strategic tax advice to management for effective decision-making. Tax Compliance & Reporting Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all tax returns (Corporate Income Tax, Commercial Tax, Withholding Tax, SGT, etc.). Maintain complete and up-to-date tax records and documentation. Liaise with the Internal Revenue Department (IRD) and external auditors as required. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations; assess their impact on the company. Prepare annual tax computations and ensure compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards. Tax Planning & Advisory Provide advice on tax-efficient business practices and cost-saving opportunities. Assist in strategic decision-making by evaluating tax implications of business activities. Support management on investment, import/export, and contractual matters from a tax perspective. Audit & Coordination Support annual financial audits and tax audits. Coordinate with internal teams and external tax consultants. Address queries from auditors and regulatory bodies in a timely manner. Process Improvement Implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency in tax management. Train and guide accounting staff on tax processes and updates.
Inventory Accounting & Reporting Maintain accurate inventory records in the accounting/ERP system. Monitor stock movements, including GRN, issuance, transfers, adjustments, and returns. Perform regular inventory reconciliations between system records and physical stock. Prepare monthly inventory reports, costing summaries, and aging analysis. Track inventory valuation (FIFO/Weighted Average or company policy). Review slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged stock and provide recommendations. Cost & Control Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory variances. Verify purchase invoices, landed cost, freight, and other cost components. Ensure proper approval and documentation for stock adjustments and write-offs. Support annual budget and cost-saving initiatives related to inventory. Audit & Compliance Support internal and external audits on inventory-related matters. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Strengthen internal controls for stock issuing, receiving, and counting. Cross-Department Coordination Work closely with Warehouse, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to resolve discrepancies. Lead monthly or quarterly stock count exercises and investigations. Provide guidance to junior accounting staff on inventory-related tasks.
