Direct Tax Compliance & Operational Execution

• Execute and ensure end-to-end preparation, review, and timely submission of all statutory returns, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Commercial Tax (CT), Specific Goods Tax (SGT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Personal Income Tax (PIT).
• Perform regular tax reconciliations, post-tax entries to the general ledger, and calculate required tax provisions for financial reporting under IFRS/GAAP.
• Personally manage monthly tax clearances and routine filings with relevant tax offices (LTO, MTO 1/2/3).

1.   IRD Engagement & Audit Defense

• Act as the direct liaison with the Internal Revenue Department (IRD), customs officials, and external tax advisors.
• Drive the end-to-end defense process for IRD tax audits, queries, and assessments, compiling documentation and drafting formal technical responses.
• Maintain comprehensive digital and physical audit trails for all transactions and filings.

1. Tax Advisory & Risk Mitigation

• Track and evaluate updates to Myanmar Tax Laws, annual Union Tax Laws, and IRD notifications to assess operational impact.
• Identify and research legitimate tax optimization opportunities, including Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) benefits and MIC tax incentives.

1. Process Control & Cross-Functional Alignment

• Partner with the local finance team to embed accurate tax application into AP/AR workflows and ERP setups.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Law. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or local equivalent) is preferred.
• Minimum (4) years of hands-on tax compliance, corporate tax execution, or tax advisory experience in Myanmar (Big 4 or MNC background preferred)
• Deep, practical familiarity with Myanmar IRD filing requirements, statutory tax codes, and cross-border WHT/DTA provisions
• Business fluency in Burmese and English (essential for local authority interaction and corporate reporting).
