• Develop and publish standards for network architecture to include backbone and customer projects. Work with other internal groups to design, develop and deploy new product offerings.
• Design augments/enhancements to existing network technologies to sustain their useful life or repair chronic issue(s). 
• Work on a team that is responsible for developing and conducting Proof of concept testing of hardware, software, and services
• Resolve architecture issues and provide and implement improved design methodologies.
• Facilitate technical transfer of information from Planning to Operations and Sales departments.
• Miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required by management.
• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.

•             5+ years of combined experience working in Network Engineering and Architecture. This will include designing and implementing comprehensive Service Provider Network solutions.

•             Advanced knowledge of protocols that includes a combination of the following: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, MPLS-TE and QinQ

•             Thorough understanding of VPN technologies such as IPSEC, GRE, L2TPv3 and L2VPN

•             Understanding of Data Center high availability

•             Must be able to diagnose and resolve routing issues, congestion problems, and hardware and software failures.

•             Detailed oriented and highly motivated and possess the ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment.

•             Technical certifications such as JNCIP-SP or CCNP/CCIE are desirable.

•             Extensive experience in IP and Carrier Ethernet in a previous engineering or Planning.

•             Intermediate knowledge of LINUX OS derivatives and shell script knowledge being a plus
