Position Purpose

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and performance of the business development. You will be responsible for driving user-centric initiatives, overseeing product creation and enhancements for the business development, and ensuring effective collaboration across various departments. Your role involves shaping the product roadmap and innovation trajectory to ensure customer needs, aligning with organizational goals, prioritize and translate strategic ideas into realistic projects that can be planned, executed and monitored within the agreed budget, scope and delivery schedule, whilst keeping tight control over the associated risks, issues and dependencies across the board, and fostering cross-functional alignment to achieve business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop the approach for identifying, managing and communicating the company’s business objectives and goals in the short to medium term initiatives
  • Lead the formulation of business objectives and OKRs that align with overall goals and strategies of the organization and drive the execution towards set targets
  • Design market strategy for new product and service, including product roadmaps, market sizing, product fit to market, go to market strategy and product roll out plans
  • Push thinking beyond the here and now, understanding firm level problems, digging into data, uncovering insights, developing and aligning a viewpoint on how to scale and win
  • Generate strategic insight based on market study, competitor analysis leading to identification of business improvement and innovation opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define and enhance internal processes for effective product discovery and delivery
  • Assist in the quarterly sprint planning and annual business planning exercises through planning, tracking and process management
  • Collaborate with various departments, including other Channels, Risk, Government Affairs, Legal, Finance and OperaAons and facilitate alignment on proposed soluAons and ensure cohesive efforts across functions
  • Coordinate with department heads and team leaders for effective Go-to-Market (GTM) planning and change management
  • Provide business updates in support of shareholder and board communication
  • Support user testing and other QA activities as needed to ensure
  • Develop a culture of knowledge sharing, learning, sharing ideas and feedback to contribute to the development of organization

  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities and proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Strong leadership and team management coupled with presentation skills that enable clear communication to all stakeholders
  • Proven ability to blend business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted business opportunity
  • Accurately capture and verify business requirements, project scope and define associated project plans required to achieve the desired business outcome and ability to identify project dependencies, critical paths across multiple projects and initiatives
  • Able to effectively use customer insight and to drive strategy, package and present
  • Strong risks and issues management skills including risk mitigation planning and execution, risk avoidance planning and issue resolution
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work on mulAple tasks simultaneously, whilst keeping the focus on quality and timely results
  • Ability to get things done in a quick-paced environment and able to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Professional approaches to collaboration with different teams across the organization
  • Strong writing and presentation skills including concept papers and PowerPoint presentation suited for senior management

Experience, Functional Skills and Knowledge Areas

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business AdministraAon, Economics, Finance or a related field from a reputable institution
  • Proven experience in a leadership role and directly managing end to end projects, preferably for financial services, technology or FinTech environments, with proven track record of success
  • Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and product lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional collaboration and achieving strategic objectives
  • Excellent English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening)
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to logically structure complex issues
