Duties & Responsibilities – Role Overview

  • Focus on non-branch based GI sales to the customers of our bank partners; primarily SMEs initially from leads from the bank branches.
  • Role will have different responsibilities and levels of seniority based on the overall BIS channel sales structure. BIS can move to Senior BIS, BSM and RSM based on experience and the size of the channel in each bank partner – to cover all segments of the Bank customer base.
  • Will cover several branches of the bank partner (between 5 and 8 depending on geographic location).
  • Will be part of a sales team and report to a Business Sales Manager (BSM)
  • The role is different to a normal bank relationship role, in that it will be expected that it includes expanding reach beyond the bank – leading to a more prominent hunter role than a traditional bank branch farmer and support role.

Role Profile

  • Detailed profiles are developed for each level of BIS, BSM and RSM.
  • Common themes include professionalism, integrity, work ethic, communications skills, empathy, self-motivation, drive to succeed, numeracy and literacy, high levels of energy and enthusiasm, high levels of relationship management and interpersonal skills.

Job Requirements

  • Degree holder preferably with at least three years of experience working in a business environment. Knowledge and experience of business and SME’s preferable.  Insurance product sales experience and proven track record would also be desirable. 
  • Proactive and result-oriented with strong selling and interpersonal skills
  • Good relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to drive their relationships and business beyond the confines of the bank relationship
  • Able to speak intermediate English or above is preferable
