The Community Engagement Liaison reports to the Commercial Manager. The Community Engagement Liaison is responsible for organizing all school community events and ensuring a vibrant, inclusive school culture.  In addition to creating a hospitable school environment, the Community Engagement Liaison will be responsible for generating leads via internal referrals. 

Event Management 

• Organize and coordinate events for students planned by the academic team.  This includes, Sports Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, the Holiday Program and others. 

• Organize and coordinate events planned for the school community.  This includes the Winter Concert, International Day, Chinese New Year, Thingyan, Step-up ceremony and others. 

• Plan, coordinate and lead events for parents.  This is in collaboration with the Parent Teacher Organization as well as independently. 

Parent Teacher Organization Coordination 

• Support the Head of School to develop a Parent Teacher Organization schedule and ensure it is followed.  

• At meetings, take notes, document parent concerns/comments, coordinate with relevant parties and follow up. 

Family Engagement 

• Plan events that provide parents an opportunity to invite their friends to share in the Yangon American community 

• Develop relationships with parents to enrich their experience with Yangon American 

• Develop and run an annual parent feedback survey.  Analyze results and propose improvements to the school operations 

• Generate leads via internal referrals  

Requirements 

• Must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree. 
• At least three years of experience planning events 
• Personable, energetic, self-starter 
• Enthusiastic, detailed and capable of delivering amazing experiences 
• Comfortable meeting new people and making connections
