ROLE PURPOSE

A fast-growing bank in the country is looking for an International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) specialist, who will be reporting directly to the Head of financial control to drive IFRS transformation by communicating with internal and external stakeholders such as internal auditor, external auditor, regulator, and audit committee. The person will also assist financial control team with the implementation of new accounting standards, including IFRS 9 and provides accounting training when required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare clear and accurate technical accounting memorandums defining the accounting treatment / policies under MFRS and IFRS for banking industry products.
• Prepare of accounting papers and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate with internal auditor, external auditor, regulator, and audit committee regarding the IFRS transformation.
• Researching, identifying and documenting technical accounting issues and conclusions under applicable accounting standards.
• Key player of implementing the full IFRS transformation, including IFRS 9.
• Identify IFRS problem areas in a set of financial statements / fact pattern and to recommend solutions.
• Prepare and deliver training related to the bank’s accounting policies and emerging accounting standards to business heads and accounting control team

• Degree holder in accounting or finance related courses
• Qualified or professional level ACCA, CA or CPA.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in preparation of financial reports in banking industry as managerial role.
• Audit experience in well-known accounting firm will be an advantage.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and background, preferably in Financial Services industry.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in both English and Myanmar languages.
