Key Responsibilities
A. Quality Control Management
Establish, maintain, and enforce QC standards, SOPs, and inspection procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
Develop and manage quality control checkpoints throughout the production line.
Lead daily QC operations, including:
Raw material testing
Batch quality monitoring
Finished goods inspection
Shelf-life and stability testing
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
Conduct root-cause analysis for defects, deviations, and customer complaints.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Verify compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) & ISO standards.
Prepare QC reports, quality scorecards, and documentation required for audits.
B. R&D and Product Development
Lead new product formulation for homecare products (detergents, dishwashing liquid, cleaners, sanitizers, etc).
Improve existing formulas for performance, cost efficiency, stability, and fragrance.
Evaluate and approve raw materials (surfactants, fragrances, additives, preservatives).
Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials before mass production.
Manage packaging compatibility testing (chemical reaction, leakage, durability).
Ensure formulas comply with FDA, REACH, environmental, and safety regulations.
Maintain a database of formulas, test results, and product specifications.
Collaborate with the marketing team to align product claims with technical capability.
C. Production Support
Support production team during mass manufacturing to ensure consistent quality output.
Troubleshoot formulation issues arising on the production line (viscosity, foaming, color separation, etc).
Work closely with procurement on raw material quality concerns and vendor qualification.
D. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all QC and R&D activities align with national regulatory standards.
Prepare documents for FDA registration and product safety compliance.
Lead internal and external audits (GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
E. People & Team Management
Supervise QC inspectors, lab chemists, and R&D technicians.
Set departmental KPIs and monitor performance.
Train staff on testing procedures, GMP, HACCP, and lab safety.
Develop future leaders within the QC & R&D teams.
