ROLE PURPOSE

This Corporate Banker will be proactively leading and executing Yoma Bank’s corporate banking business strategy with a view to achieving targeted revenue budgets. To work towards achieving stakeholders’ business objectives by offering a variety of corporate banking services and solutions, including but not limited to transaction banking services, loans, trade finance.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively managing and developing effective client relationships, identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs and promoting products and services
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the client’s financial needs and demonstrating strong product and service knowledge to match the bank’s offering with client needs
  • Overall assessment and evaluation of client financials, provide financing recommendations that are tailored to clients’ needs through synthesis and evaluation of overall assessment of clients
  • Generating new client acquisitions and selling products to new clients; liaising with the sales team to ensure the quality of clients referred is to the required standard
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of large credit relationships
  • Monitor credit relationships to ensure ongoing compliance with approved terms/conditions
  • Review existing relationships at intervals consistent with Bank policy
  • Establish contract, rapport and credibility with prospective clients to influence key decision makers to start the relationship with the organization
  • Direct and supervise ongoing client management by monitoring clients’ financing implementation plans
  • Maintain a detailed and current understanding of the industry; current market structures; regulatory requirements and issues to ensure that opportunities are realized and the risks mitigated
  • Serve as a mentor for Junior Relationship Managers as they develop and/or refine credit underwriting, negotiation and cross-selling skills/techniques

Education & Special Training

Essential

  • Basic Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Business Finance, Economic or other business management discipline

Desirable

  • Ability to interpret financial statements, credit worthiness and understand financial models to provide financing solutions upon the client’s financing needs

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years experiences in Myanmar commercial or Corporate Banking Segment
  • Basic credit assessment

Desirable

  • Ability to understand clients banking needs and provide the best solution in the benefit of both bank and the client
  • Understanding clients' financial goals and providing suitable banking solutions. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Skill to identify client’s needs and pain point to suggest client’s banking needs
  • Good local relationship in local business community
  • Good local regulatory environment and knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player with the ability to coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Fast learner and adaptation of the changing environment

Languages

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills in both English and Myanmar language
  • Strong Business Proficiency in English, including reporting writing and presentation skill is required
