• Record daily sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments accurately maintaining the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Verify invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and supporting documents.
• Maintain organised digital and physical accounting records.
• Monitor customer deposits, outstanding balances, supplier payments and refunds.
• Maintain records of bank accounts, cash balances and other business funds.
• Investigate cash shortages, overages, duplicate entries and unexplained differences.
• Ensure payments are made only with the required authorisation.
• Reconcile inventory values in the accounting system with reports from the stock control team.
• Ensure jewellery purchases, diamond purchases, returns and other stock movements are recorded correctly.
• Monitor the cost of goods sold (COGS) and gross profit by product category.
• Reconcile inventory-related accounting entries with the Operations & Stock Control Officer.
• Prepare the financial reports of daily sales, monthly profit & loss statement, monthly balance sheet and financial performance. comparison between branches and expenses.
• Be able to travel to branch if needed, with Meal and Travel Allowance.

Tax Compliance and external reporting

• Maintain records needed for relevant tax filings and statutory reporting.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documents for tax advisers or external auditors.
• Track tax-related deadlines and required payments.
• Ensure financial documents are complete and readily available for review.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or a recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience: Ideally 2–4 years of practical accounting or finance experience, preferably in retail, trading, jewellery or another inventory-intensive business.
• Accounting knowledge: Good understanding of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, inventory costing, COGS and financial statements.
• Computer skills: Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables and reconciliations.
• Communication: Able to coordinate with branch staff, management, suppliers and external accountants.
• Personal qualities: Honest, analytical, organised, detail-oriented, discreet and comfortable challenging unsupported transactions.
