Academic Support:
• Small Group Instruction: Leading "breakout groups" for literacy or numeracy to reinforce concepts taught by the Lead Teacher.
• Differentiation: Adapting resources or explaining instructions in simpler terms to help students with different ability levels.
• Assisting non-native English speakers in accessing the curriculum through visual aids or simplified vocabulary.
• Marking & Assessment: Assisting in the marking of work and keeping records of student progress to share during parent-teacher meetings.
Classroom Management:
• Environment Setup: Preparing "state-of-the-art" learning centers, science labs, or art stations before lessons begin.
• Display Creation: Designing and maintaining high-quality classroom displays that showcase student work and support current learning themes.
• Behavior Support: Implementing the school’s positive behavior policy consistently to maintain a calm, focused atmosphere.
Safeguarding & Supervision:
• Duty Coverage: Supervising students during break times, lunch, and transitions to specialist lessons (PE, Music).
• ECA Involvement: Often expected to assist with or lead an Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) such as a sport, craft, or language club.
