A Chief Accountant is a senior finance leader responsible for the full accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Reporting: Oversee full-set accounts and lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
· Compliance: Ensure tax (e.g., VAT, corporate tax) and statutory compliance; liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
· Operations: Manage AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, cash flow, and bank reconciliations.
· Budgeting & financial analysis to guide business decisions.
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
· Certification: Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is strongly preferred or mandatory.
· Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a CA /managerial role.
· Skills: Deep knowledge of local/international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax laws, ERP systems, advanced Excel, strong leadership, and analytical ability.
