This job role is responsible for tracking and reporting the value of company assets, commonly work with a team of other accountants, auditors, and financial professionals to ensure that all relevant information is properly recorded and maintained.  Fixed asset accountant is responsible to be tasked with assisting in developing or implementing policies related to fixed asset management which include creating guidelines for when new assets should be purchased, how they should be depreciated over time, etc.

• Review purchase orders to ensure that all items are accounted

• Conduct audits of fixed assets to confirm that they are recorded accurately in accordance with regulations

• Ensure that all fixed assets are properly recorded and classified according to company policies

• Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.

• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets

• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation

• Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of

• Assist in reviewing internal controls in place to prevent asset mismanagement or loss due to theft or other unauthorized use

• Calculate depreciation or amortization amounts based on asset type and acquisition date

• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards

• Support in reviewing financial statements to ensure that assets are properly recorded

• Assist in establishing policies and procedures for recording and reporting fixed assets

• Bachelor Degree preferably in  Accounting/Business Finance or related field

• Good knowledge in accounting standards and asset management

• Good communication, data analysis and data gathering skills

• Details orientated and good numerical skill

• Able to work with all level stakeholders

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Able to travel as per business requirements

• Minimum one year’s experience in fixed asset management or in related job role
