An Exciting Opportunity for ...

  • In conjunction with Company management, develop, design and execute geotechnical drilling and testing programs for a variety of clients.
  • Assist geotechnical Manager on business development of geotechnical programs and local logistical management of geotechnical instruments in Laos.  
  • Conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations, including site in-situ testing, geotechnical core logging, structural mapping, and soil/rock characterization.
  • Collect, review, and interpret geological and geotechnical data (rock mass quality, discontinuities, groundwater conditions, slope stability indicators).
  • Supervise and coordinate geotechnical drilling, sampling, in-situ testing (e.g., Permeability Test, Standard Penetration Test, Vane Shear Test, rock mass classification) and instrument installation (Vibrating Wire Piezometer, Water Standpipe, Inclinometer, etc).
  • Prepare high-quality geological and geotechnical reports, calculation, cross-sections, and GIS maps (in English and Laos languages).
  • Monitor ground conditions during drilling, excavation, or construction activities and advise on geotechnical risks.

  • Minimum graduated with B.SC (Geology) or EG (Engineering geology).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in geotechnical mining and site investigation fields.
  • Well-developed leadership and team management skills.
  • Well versed with wireline core drilling system and expertise with geotechnical instruments.
  • Ability to supervise, guide and train drilling staff on handling of geotechnical instruments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines for all tasks and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Deal with client and team on all technical matters both on and off site.
  • Be self-motivated and able to manage and priorities of several tasks together.
  • Valid driver’s licence preferred.
  • English language required.
  • Strong reporting, planning and communication skills.
