Job Purpose

The Senior Cashier is responsible for the overall control, supervision, and integrity of all cash and banking operations across RGL Dry Port locations (Ywarthargyi and Myitnge). The role ensures accurate cash handling, timely bank transactions, strict compliance with internal controls, and regular monitoring of both Main Cashier and Operations Cashiers.

Key Responsibilities

- Cash Management & Control

• Oversee and control all cash transactions at both Main Cashier and Operations Cashier levels.
• Ensure daily reconciliation of cash collections against system records.
• Monitor cash balances and ensure adequate but controlled cash float levels.
• Approve and supervise all cash payments in line with company policies.
• Ensure proper custody and safeguarding of physical cash at all locations.

- Supervision of Cashiers

• Directly supervise:
  • Main Cashier
  • Operations Cashiers (Ywarthargyi & Myitnge)
• Review daily cashier reports and transaction summaries.
• Ensure all cashiers comply with SOPs, documentation, and control procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to improve cashier accuracy and efficiency.

- Banking Operations

• Manage all bank-related transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
• Ensure timely deposit of cash collections into designated bank accounts.
• Reconcile bank balances with accounting records on a regular basis.
• Coordinate with banks on operational matters where required.

- Spot Checks & Internal Controls

• Conduct regular and surprise spot checks on:
  • Cash balances
  • Receipts and supporting documents
  • Compliance with procedures
• Identify discrepancies and report immediately to management.
• Strengthen internal control systems to minimize risks of fraud or error.

- Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and submit:
  • Daily cash position reports
  • Weekly cash summaries
  • Variance reports (if any discrepancies arise)
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all cash-related transactions.
• Support Finance team with audit requirements (internal & external).

- Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data.
• Detect and escalate any irregularities, fraud risks, or control weaknesses.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in cashiering or cash management roles
• Experience in supervising multi-location cashier operations preferred
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems is an advantage
