1 - Mission, Vision and Policies Demonstrate a commitment to implement the mission and vision of the school ensuring children are working towards the stated outcomes. Adhere to all policies and procedures stated and referred to in the Academic Staff Handbook and School Policy Manual. 2 - Teaching Prepare suitable lessons and homework as per school policy. Keep records of topics taught, including individual lessons where appropriate. ∙ Have a sound knowledge of the relevant school and English National Curriculum guidelines as appropriate, and use these effectively in implementing a child-centred approach to learning in the classroom. Ensure all assessable work is marked promptly and children are given feedback on how to make further progress. Use a range of teaching approaches appropriate to meeting the needs of the individual child. Provide a stimulating learning environment in the classroom, one which promotes the individual child’s self-esteem and confidence. Establish and consistently maintain effective classroom routines. Establish a good rapport with the children whilst maintaining clear classroom control. 3 - Monitoring, Assessment & Evaluation Monitor, assess and evaluate each child’s learning. Prepare clear, accurate and honest written reports of each child’s progress as required by school policy. Be available to parents and recognise the importance of including parents in each child’s education, conducting personal interviews as and when required. Maintain records of each child’s learning, and where required, ensure that samples of each child’s work and other appropriate information are maintained in suitable files and are readily available for quick reference. Demonstrate the ability to evaluate personal performance and make adjustments to provide more effective learning programmes for the children if necessary. 4 - Professional Development Demonstrate a commitment to personal development through regular, active participation in professional development activities, both formal (school sponsored INSET) and informal (e.g. participation in policy development, visiting other classrooms, schools etc.). 5 - Within School Interaction Behave in an ethical manner and maintain professional relationships with all academic and administrative staff. To be responsible for the confidential counselling services to students and families as needed. To be responsible for providing counselling and support for groups of students as needed. To liaise with teachers regarding individual students who have been referred for counselling as necessary. To coordinate with all members of the student services teams at regular meetings where students of concern are discussed and actions decided. To arrange and deliver relevant training for staff as and when needs are identified. To help plan and run wellbeing workshops for parents, teachers and students. To line manage other staff library staff assigned to the library To provide reports on issues relating to the library for SLT upon request To liaise with primary and secondary academic staff in ensuring that the library maintains up to date resources to support teaching and learning. To initiate and participate, coordinate with other staff members in activities and special events, for example book week, author visits etc to promote the enjoyment of reading coordinating with other staff members. To plan strategically for the development of the library, especially with regards to blended learning, in consultation with SLT. To manage and develop the systems and procedures within the library to ensure that they are efficient and understood by staff and students To be responsible for and monitor library budge To complete an annual stock check to control and maintain the collections and share the report with the business office. To issue notice letters regarding late returns or missing books to students and parents. To liaise with tutors/teachers regarding book returns from students. To issue and collect textbooks at the start and end of the academic year and provide these for new students on arrival. To catalogue and classify books, ensuring that the library is organised effectively to meet the needs of the students. To organise the supply of books for classroom use. To purchase books, select, order, develop, maintain and withdraw the library collections (both physical and digital) for its development, in consultation coordination with primary and secondary staff. To promote the access of online library catalogue, books, ebooks, periodicals, online subscription resources, devices or equipments, other library facilities and services that are available at the school library To ensure that there is adequate supervision in place for break times and all other times where students are in the library without their teachers. To liaise with classroom teachers in setting up a timetable for library visits. To provide a stimulating environment for students visiting the library To support teachers and TAs with reading activities. To complete other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.

Deliver small group lessons to students attending the TLC and Pathway for Progress curriculum in Secondary Adapt learning materials to students’ needs to create engaging lessons. Develop and deliver curriculum specifically designed for individual students keeping in line with the English National Curriculum. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, independence, and self-advocacy. Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods and interventions as needed to support their development. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, in compliance with school policies and regulations. Support the integration of the students into mainstream classrooms wherever appropriate.
