Winners of the 2018 Myanmar Employer Awards have been announced

The second annual Myanmar Employer Awards Gala Night was held on the 30th of November 2018 at the Grand Ballroom of Novotel Yangon Max. This marks the conclusion of a 6 month campaign bringing together local and international companies operating in Myanmar, and aimed at recognising and rewarding employer excellence across sectors in Myanmar. The annual Myanmar Employer Awards is powered by Jobnet.com.mm – the #1 online jobs and recruitment website in Myanmar.

The Myanmar Employer Awards celebrate top industry leaders across the country for their exceptional achievements and relentless commitment to employer excellence and talent management best practices. Over the course of six months, teams and organisations - both international and local – are assessed independently based on their individual merits in planning and executing effective HR best practices. Finalists are announced in November in the weeks leading up to the awards night. The judging panel is headed by Prof. Aung Tun Thet, Member of the Myanmar Investment Commission and former economic advisor to the President of Myanmar. Prof. Thet is also a strong advocate of, and well respected figure in the HR community in Myanmar.

Through 3 rounds of rigorous judging audited by the official verifying partner Deloitte Myanmar, applications were judged over the course of 3 months by 14 local HR experts and 9 international HR industry leaders. On the 30th of November, the winners of each category including new categories such as ‘CEO of the Year’, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Engagement’ and ‘SME of the Year’ were announced to the public in an exclusive red-carpet event attended by public and private sector’s corporate leaders and government guests including U Zaw Aye Maung, the Minister of Labour Affairs, Immigration, Manpower and Rakhine National Affairs.
