Main Function

Under the supervision of the Senior Enterprise & Livelihood Development Officer, Livelihood & Enterprise Development Officer shall support in the planning and implementation of forest and agricultural based sustainable livelihood initiatives in all project areas. This includes - socio-economic and livelihood assessments, incubating local businesses, and providing direct support in developing livelihood/enterprise projects for local actors and linking them to markets or business service providers.  

Major duties and responsibilities will include capacity building and backstopping of local enterprise groups, coordination / representation and logistics / finance support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in rural development, marketing, trades, enterprise management or related subjects
  • Minimum five years of work experience with NGOs or social enterprise development in Myanmar 
  • Knowledge of development in Myanmar in the field of natural resources, in particular on forestry and agricultural products.
  • Strong understanding or/and experience in market research, product development in field of forest or non-timber forest products (NTFPs), or other agricultural products
  • Understanding of development, socio-economic and in-depth local knowledge, conservation, and natural resource management issues in Myanmar 
  • Good in written and spoken English
