Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

The Executive Director (ED) will lead the Studer Trust Management Team in Myanmar supervising the development, and coordination of  the programme and activities in Myanmar. The ED will have direct representational and managerial responsibility for the Myanmar programme and team, within institutional policies and delegated authority. The ED will report to the Board of the Trustees based in Hong Kong. The  responsibilities of the ED  include:

1.    Overseeing the running of the Teachers Training Center (TTC) in Mandalay. This  includes creating/reviewing training materials, the curriculum and the training of teachers. 
2.    Overseeing the budgeting/planning and construction of school buildings and smaller projects .
3.    Managing a team of 8 in Myanmar, reporting to the Board of Trustees in Hong Kong (Leadership)
4.    Providing support to the Communications and Marketing Manager for  international donor relationship management and fundraising. Also directly reponible for in-country fund raising.
5.    This full-time position will be based at the Studer Trust's TTC facility in Mandalay, with travel throughout the local area and the country as required.

Job Requirements

1.    Have experience working in a leading role for an NGO/INGO/charity etc in Myanmar.
2.    Have demonstrated skills necessary to provide dynamic leadership and effective supervision of employees responsible for varying assignments, while supporting employees in a collaborative and collegial work environment.
3.    Have at least 5 years of demonstrable experience of project implementation, including planning, monitoring and evaluation systems 
4.    Having knowledge and understanding of budgetary systems and 3-5 years’ experience of managing project budgets.
5.    Have at least 1-2 years of experience of submitting clear written reports to donors and other parties. 
6.    Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive and related software.
7.    Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal with experience in cross-cultural settings.
