Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management and Strategy

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and market conditions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow statements to support decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for investment decisions, cost control, and profit maximization.

2. Accounting Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor and maintain internal control systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Supervise the preparation and submission of tax filings, ensuring compliance with Myanmar’s tax laws and regulations.

3. Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards, financial policies, and tax requirements for each sector.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.
  • Manage risk assessments and implement measures to minimize financial risks.

4. Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with department heads from the construction, real estate, and liquor sectors to align financial goals with operational needs.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance technical and professional skills.

5. Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Provide analysis of financial performance, highlighting key trends and deviations.
  • Develop presentations and reports for stakeholders, including potential investors and partners.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA/ACCA preferred) is required.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management, including at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Industry experience in construction, real estate, or retail sectors is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Be proficient in SQL accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially advanced in Excel).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS or GAAP) and Myanmar tax regulations.
  • Experience in financial modeling, budget preparation, and cost analysis.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • High attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive financial data.
