Job Overview:

The Packaging Assistant is responsible for assisting in various packing and shipping tasks within the operations department. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that products are prepared and dispatched on time, meeting the quality standards of the company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in the packing of products according to company standards and customer specifications.

• Must be proficient in data entry for the system. Data should be collected from all packing lines and the preparation team.

• Operate packaging machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.

• Perform quality control checks to ensure packaging meets quality standards.

• Label packages correctly according to product specifications and shipping requirements.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold safety and efficiency standards.

• Assist in inventory management, including counting, sorting, and organizing stock.

• Collaborate with team members to meet packing targets and deadlines.

• Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging, safety, and sanitation.

• Report any machinery issues or safety hazards to the Packing Supervisor immediately.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

• High school diploma or equivalent/ preferable with graduate..

• Must possess a basic understanding of how to use email, Google Sheets, and Excel

• Need to have the knowledge (5S) is preferred. 

• Previous experience in a packing or production environment is preferred but not essential.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Basic math and reading skills for following instructions and completing reports.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
