We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Research & Development (R&D) team and contribute to the creation of high-quality Android applications for our payment and EFTPOS systems. You will work under the guidance of senior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure and reliable payment applications. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for payment and EFTPOS systems. 
2. Collaborate with designers, QA, backend engineers, and project managers to define and implement new features. 
3. Work with APIs and external data sources, especially those related to payment and financial systems. 
4. Optimize application performance, ensure responsiveness, and troubleshoot bugs and bottlenecks. 
5. Write clean, maintainable, and secure code following best practices. 
6. Implement offline storage, asynchronous processing, and performance tuning techniques. 
7. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning sessions. 
8. Stay up to date with evolving technologies, tools, and practices in mobile and fintech development. 
9. Follow secure coding practices to protect sensitive users and financial data. 

Job Requirements: 

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a related field. 
2. 2+ years of professional Android app development experience. 
3. Solid knowledge of Kotlin and Java. 
4. Experience with Android SDK and working across different Android versions. 
5. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and general mobile architecture. 
6. Experience using Git or other version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket). 
7. Good understanding of UI/UX principles and Material Design. 
8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
9. Good communication and collaboration skills in a team environment. 
10. Willingness to learn and grow with emerging technologies and practices. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Experience with payment systems, POS technologies, and financial app development. 
2. Knowledge of ISO 8583, EMV, NFC, encryption, and secure coding practices. 
3. Familiarity with Android Jetpack components, Kotlin Coroutines, RxJava, and Flow for asynchronous programming. 
4. Understanding of offline storage, threading, and performance optimization. 
5. Exposure to Agile methodologies and full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
