An Exciting Opportunity for ...

Main responsibility 
The Team Leader is the leader of the field team responsible for the set up and maintenance of a well-functioning VHW network in the project area in line the strategy for VHW activities. The field team consists of the Team leader (MD/ HA) and local staffs who facilitate monitoring and support activities to VHW.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities in general; 


Operational management:

  • Responsible for quality program implementation of Malaria, TB, BHC, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, disability and SRHR for successful integration of activities
  • To explore remote medical underserviced areas for potential villages benefitting from volunteer activities
  • To actively lead volunteer selection, recruitment and training
  • To manage the planning of the monthly monitoring of the volunteers’ activities
  • and resupply
  • To provide technical support to community volunteers involved in the project, on implementing project activities (Malaria, TB, BHC, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, disability, etc)
  • To support the strengthening of community stakeholders, management of emergency referral system and emergency referral fund (where applicable), etc
  • To represent the project on a local level in relation to other stakeholders
  • To ensure systematic data collection along the project implementation, including specific donor reporting, and identify any shortcomings along the project cycle
  • To take financial accountability for operations of mobile team activities complies with policies and procedure under the guidance of PMC and PC.
  • To provide actual and estimated consumptions of medicines and other stocks to the respective PMC on a monthly basis
  • To prepare the monthly project reports in a defined time frame;
  • To advise the project (medical) coordinator concerning project implementation in relation to practical field reality;
  • To be able to work in the remote field sites including night stay and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Willing to travel with up to 90% of working days in the field travel and site visits in project areas
  • To perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Human resources management:

  • To lead and supervise one or more field teams of locally recruited staff;
  • To use capacity of staff to the maximum benefit of the project;
  • To perform capacity building and training sessions for field staff.

Job Requirements

  • Medical Doctor Degree with SAMA or Community Health
  • Previous working experience in Malaria, TB, Maternal and Reproductive health services, Child health services and Nutrition is an advantage.
  • Good in English.
  • Willing to travel in remote areas under difficult circumstances
  • Able to advocate and negotiate with relevant stakeholders
  • Firm, flexible, open and decisive
  • Hard working, accept flexible working hours and able to work independently.
