Summary

You are required to provide underwriting and leadership support for CAR/IAR department in New Business Underwriting and claims process.

• Be involved in setting up of the CAR/IAR department, including but not limited to formation of rating table, schedule, wordings, risk management.
• Be responsible for underwriting support to run operations smoothly & effectively for CAR/IAR line of business
• Lead and coordinate end-to-end underwriting process
• Underwrite new applications for CAR/IAR proposals policy including determining an appropriate premium rate based on risk factors
• Countersign and provide guidance to underwriters;
• Review underwriting guidelines, streamline work processes to support business operations, maintain underwriting manual
• Understand the business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
• Keep updated on industry trends on regulatory compliance and underwriting
• Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
• Review applications of existing policies renewal and to ensure that all required information has been received and that the policy is still appropriate for coverage under the company’s underwriting guidelines.

• Degree with at least 5 years’ experience in underwriting CAR/IAR risks;
• Non-degree holders who have relevant experience or certification in underwriting may be considered;
• Good team player with strong analytical skills & ability to work under pressure;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Persuasive and able to convey ideas, plus negotiation and influencing skills
• Able to handle conflicts and self-motivated in difficult situations
• Displays high learning orientation and likes to innovate to achieve goals
• Literacy in both English and Burmese (both oral & written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
