ROLEPURPOSE
This role is to oversee the end-to-end management of regulations updates and ensure timely and effective implementation across the bank. Acting as the central point of coordination, the role leads to regulatory impact assessments, drives cross functional execution, and facilitates stakeholder engagement.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of regulatory instructions from receipt and review to implementation and confirmation of compliance by relevant divisions.
  • Conduct and coordinate regulatory impact assessments to determine scope, urgency, and operational implications.
  • Assign regulatory requirements to the appropriate divisions, ensuring clear accountability for timely and effective implementation and ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and drive action plans for implementation, providing oversight, clarification, and support throughout the process.
  • Monitor and track implementation progress through the compliance register, ensuring timely updates, escalation of delays, and closure with supporting evidence.
  • Oversee and maintain the compliance register, ensuring it reflects all regulatory obligations, implementation statuses, and compliance milestones.
  • Drive enhancements to the compliance register tool and related workflows to improve end-to-end visibility and enable effective monitoring of regulatory implementation.
  • Establish clear governance and reporting mechanisms to ensure senior management visibility into regulatory change implementation and compliance status.
  • Support continuous improvement by conducting periodic process reviews, mentoring junior staff, and participating in key regulatory projects affecting the business.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory change management processes or compliance requirements in banking sector.
  • Solid knowledge of letter/document control, record-keeping, and compliance workflows.
  • Excellent review, monitoring, and coordination skills to handle multiple correspondences concurrently.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leaderships, including team management and development.
  • Strong professional attitude, with a proactive, accountable and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint for preparing presentations and compliance reporting.

Education & Special Training

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline.
  • A relevant professional certification in compliance or related field (e.g.  CAMS, CRCM, ICA or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of knowledge and experience in banking or other financial services organizations within a regulated environment.
  • Prior experience in managerial role in regulatory compliance is essential.
  • Excellent in negotiation, analytical and critical thinking.
  • Developing compliance policies aligned with CBM directives.

Languages

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills in both English and Myanmar language
  • Business Proficiency in English and Report Writing is a plus.
