Role Overview:

The Technical Officer will lead and support the modernization and optimization of the bank’s core banking systems as part of the digital transformation strategy. This role will ensure seamless integration of digital solutions with the core banking platform while enhancing system performance, security, and scalability to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Banking System Management

• Oversee the development, customization, and maintenance of the core banking system.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to upgrade or replace legacy core banking systems.
• Monitor the system’s performance to ensure uninterrupted banking operations.

Digital Transformation Initiatives

• Integrate core banking systems with emerging technologies like APIs, mobile apps, and cloud platforms.
• Support the development and rollout of new digital banking products and services.
• Ensure alignment of core banking systems with the bank’s digital transformation goals.

System Integration and Data Management

• Manage seamless integration between core banking systems and other applications (e.g., CRM, payment gateways, reporting tools).
• Optimize data flows between systems to support real-time processing and decision-making.
• Ensure the quality, security, and accuracy of data across platforms.

Project Management

• Lead or participate in core banking-related transformation projects from initiation to deployment.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Develop project plans, documentation, and reports for stakeholders.

Risk Management and Compliance

• Ensure the core banking system adheres to regulatory requirements, cybersecurity protocols, and data privacy laws.
• Perform regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate technical vulnerabilities.
• Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place for core banking operations.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Research and propose enhancements to improve the efficiency and scalability of the core banking system.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies for integration with core banking solutions.
• Provide recommendations for automating processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Support and Training

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the core banking system.
• Provide training and support to end-users and business teams on new functionalities and systems.
• Maintain technical documentation for core banking processes and solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in IT roles, specifically managing or implementing core banking systems in a banking or financial institution.
• Proven track record of delivering digital transformation projects involving core banking platforms.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of core banking systems (e.g., Temenos T24, Finacle, Flexcube, or similar).
• Proficiency in system integration, APIs, middleware, and database management (e.g., Oracle, SQL).
• Familiarity with digital banking technologies (e.g., mobile banking, internet banking, payment gateways).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards in banking.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
