Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Manager (Systems Integration),
to oversee the planning, implementation, and management of technology systems within our
healthcare organisation. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for ensuring the
seamless integration of various healthcare IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR),
medical devices, and other clinical, financial and administrative applications. This role requires a
strong understanding of healthcare workflows, a solid technical background in system integration,
and a commitment to maintaining data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
● System Integration and Project Management: Lead and manage all phases of healthcare
IT integration projects, from initial planning and design to implementation, testing, and
deployment. This includes coordinating the integration of existing and new IT systems and
devices (e.g., EHR, HIMS, LIMS, RIS/PACS, Drug Database, CDSS, Medical Devices, HIoT
Devices, wearables, patient portals and mobile PHR, ERP, Payment Gateway, etc).
● Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with software and platform
vendors, IT project and product teams, operational teams, healthcare professionals and
clinical staff, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, translate clinical
workflows into technical requirements, and deliver effective technology solutions.
● Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and guidance on system architecture,
data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM), and integration methodologies (eg. API).
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system interfaces and data
flow.
● Compliance and Security: Ensure that all IT systems and integration projects adhere to
healthcare regulations and security standards, including HIPAA/GDPR. Implement and
monitor cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive patient information.
● Team Leadership and Development: Develop, supervise and mentor a team of IT
specialists and analysts, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and
professional growth.
● Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring that
external support and services align with the organisation's strategic objectives. Manage
the whole life cycle of the projects from requirement gathering, preparing requirements
documents, negotiating with vendors, processing commercial contracts, monitoring
progress and milestones and approving payments.
● Support and Training: Support end users during testing, deployment and go-live stage
both on-premise and remote during and outside of normal operating business hours and
coordinate with vendors to resolve outstanding issues. Develop and deliver training
programs to ensure end-users are proficient with new technologies and system changes.
● Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the organization's overall IT strategy,
identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance patient care and
operational efficiency through integrating certain data sets.
