JOB SUMMARY

The Network Operations Center Controller supports daily data center operations, with primary responsibility for monitoring facility systems and providing basic network monitoring support. The role includes observing equipment conditions, identifying alarms, performing approved initial checks, maintaining operational records, and promptly escalating issues to the relevant engineers.

The Network Operations Center Controller assists engineers with inspections, maintenance coordination, and incident response, follows approved procedures and instructions, communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A willingness to learn new technologies and develop facility operations and networking knowledge is essential.

JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor facility systems, including cooling units, main electrical distribution boards, UPS systems, and fire alarm systems, and record equipment status and environmental readings.
• Conduct routine inspections using approved checklists, identify abnormal conditions, and report equipment faults.
• Assist engineers with inspections, preventive maintenance, and incident response, and record relevant equipment conditions.
• Follow site safety and emergency procedures, and perform operational actions only when appropriately trained and authorized.
• Monitor network device status, link availability, and service alarms, and perform approved basic connectivity checks.
• Assist engineers with network equipment installation, cable connections, maintenance, and configuration backups as assigned.
• Respond promptly to facility and network alarms, perform approved initial checks, and escalate unresolved issues according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, inspection records, and incident reports, and provide timely stakeholder updates and complete shift handovers.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to support service continuity and perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (including B.E. IT), Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional diplomas or certificates in IT, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or data center operations are an advantage.

Work Experience

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in data center operations, facility operations, IT support, or network operations.
• Experience in monitoring equipment status, recording alarms, reporting incidents, and supporting routine operational activities is preferred.
• Hands-on exposure to data center electrical or cooling systems is an advantage.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Basic understanding of data center electrical systems, including main electrical distribution boards, circuit breakers, and power distribution units (PDUs).
• Basic knowledge of UPS systems, including operating status, battery indicators, load levels, and common alarms.
• Basic knowledge of air-conditioning and cooling systems, including airflow, temperature, humidity, and equipment operating status.
• Ability to identify abnormal equipment conditions, record observations, and escalate issues according to approved procedures.
• Awareness of electrical hazards, site safety requirements, emergency procedures, and authorization limits.
• Basic knowledge of IP addressing, LAN/WAN connectivity, and the functions of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Basic understanding of network cables, fiber-optic connections, patch panels, and device link indicators.
• Ability to monitor network device status, link availability, and service alarms.
• Ability to perform basic connectivity checks, such as ping and traceroute, following approved procedures.
• Familiarity with Cisco ASR 9000 and Cisco Nexus switches is an advantage.
• Ability to maintain accurate operational records and provide clear shift handovers
• Willingness to learn new technologies and develop facility operations and basic networking skills.
• Good teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both English and Myanmar
• Professional Certification
• Relevant certifications or training in electrical safety, UPS systems, cooling systems, or data center operations are an advantage. 
• CCNA certification is preferred
• CCNP certification is an additional advantage

• Able to work in 24/7 shift rotation environment
• Able to respond to incidents and operational alerts promptly
• Willing to work overtime when required and Able to communicate with vendors
