Position Summary The Academic Coordinator at GIC plays a central role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of academic delivery across all programs (including IGCSE and OSSD). This includes supporting curriculum planning, monitoring instructional standards, coordinating academic operations, and guiding both students and faculty toward institutional excellence. Key Responsibilities 📘 Academic Leadership & Coordination Design and maintain annual and termly academic calendars in coordination with department heads and partners. Assign subject teachers, schedule classes, and ensure curriculum coverage aligns with internal and external academic frameworks (e.g., IGCSE, OSSD). Monitor and ensure timely implementation of lesson plans, assessments, and grading standards. Review and improve academic processes based on feedback from classroom observations, exam results, and stakeholder surveys. Organize term exams, diagnostic tests, mock assessments, and coordinate grade reporting with academic teams. 👩‍🏫 Faculty Support & Development Support teachers on instructional strategies, classroom management, and curriculum delivery. Facilitate weekly academic meetings, workshops, or peer-learning activities. Provide feedback after classroom observations and support performance reviews in collaboration with the HR/Admin team. Help onboard new teachers with resources, system orientation, and teaching expectations. 📊 Student Academic Monitoring Track academic progress, grades, course completions, and credit accumulation for each student. Identify and support students at risk of falling behind, in collaboration with subject teachers and guidance staff. Coordinate timely feedback and grade reporting with Canadian partners and parents. 🎓 University Preparation & Guidance Support Grade 11 and 12 students with university planning, including course selection aligned with their career goals. Organize university fairs, guest speaker events, and counseling sessions. Assist students in preparing university application portfolios, personal statements, and recommendation letters. Coordinate with international universities and agencies for scholarship opportunities and early applications. 🧑‍🎓 Student & Parent Engagement Serve as the primary academic liaison for assigned class levels or year groups. Address academic queries or behavioral concerns raised by parents or students. Maintain class-level communication (e.g., Viber groups or parent portals) with consistent updates. Support academic orientation sessions, parent-teacher conferences, and progress briefings. 🛠️ Digital Learning & LMS Oversight Manage and supervise the setup of Learning Management System for each academic term. Coordinate the uploading of learning resources, assignments, quizzes, and exam content. Ensure proper student and teacher enrollment in relevant LMS courses. Train and support faculty in using LMS features effectively (e.g., grading tools, student tracking). Monitor digital activity reports and maintain a structured content archive and backup system.
